Ready Steady Bang
Ready Steady Bang is a great little game for the ipod/iphone by a former workmate of mine Ed Barrett and design consultancy Chambers Judd.
If you remember playing Slaps at school (not your happy slapping), then this is along the same lines. Two cowboys face each other to duel, a countdown is started – Ready Steady Bang – and the quickest to nail their competition by tapping the fastest wins that round.
It’s simple and addictive idea, with the infuriation of being too slow to beat the different cowboys offset by the many varied death animations. Where it really shines though is the two player mode, this video explains it best (with girlish giggles):
