John Waters is also the narrator for a documentary on crime scene dollhouses called Of Dolls and Murder that I’m hoping to grab a copy of in the New Year. It’s about a series of grisly dollhouse diaroramas that depict murder scenes that were created in the 30s and 40s and are still used in forensic science training today. Known as the Nutshells of Unexplained Death, each of the dioramas contain a large degree of intricate detail. John Waters is tied to it as it was filmed in and around his home town of Baltimore, as are the Nutshells.
